we are so so close.
on Thursday, February 14th, it will be 3 weeks until our precious little one is expected. at the rate things are going I think he’ll be full term (over 39 weeks). i’m okay with whatever is best for him!
we have been taking birthing classes through Bradley Method. if you’re interested in natural and husband-coached birthing, this is the method for you! (we’ve also been taking the class with two couples from our small group which has been SO fun!). the classes have provided us with some great information and perspective. i’ve always been interested in natural (unmedicated) birth but i think had i not taken this class, i would not be as prepared to deal with the pain and process of birth. we’ve learned relaxation techniques, laboring/birthing positions & ways to encourage one another along the way.

Yura has been incredible. he has given me words of affirmation, countless massages and gotten up many times in the night to refill my Tervis with water (i’m SO thirsty all the time). i can’t imagine any better person to be by my side through all of this and through the upcoming journey – he’s my best friend & such a good “coach”.

people have been asking me some questions so here’s a few answers! i am feeling very sore, uncomfortable and exhausted. i’ve definitely never experienced exhaustion from merely sitting and breathing like this. rolling from one side to the other is a nightly challenge. also this little boy is getting more active by the minute! he likes to kick my sides.

we are birthing at Brookwood. i have just been pleased and thrilled so far with our practice & the hospital. i look forward to our labor & delivery there! our goal is to have a completely natural experience, labor at home as much as possible & possibly experience water labor. we’ll be keeping things very private when we go into labor & most likely won’t share with anyone until after our son is born.
the support & love we’ve been given by our friends and family has been amazing. we are blessed people, loved & cared for, & i can’t wait for our son to know our community!
